***************
I have reduced the price of this painting due to economic hardship on the local and world economy and my income. I am hoping it helps some buyers to beautify their homes in this current situation and be able to support a sole trader - artist (that's me), at the same time.
Prices will return to normal when the world does, whenever that is?
Originally $1500
Hope this helps...

****************

This peaceful drifty artwork lifts the spirits of all who see it.
The gentle flow of water, invisible under currents, drifts, ebbs and flows.
Here is a peak at the ocean from above or a view of moody stormy skies on the horizon. A lovely reminder of the effervescence and beauty of life contained within water in all its forms.
Water as a subject, context and formal element seems to often find its way back into my artwork. It reveals my passionate love of the sea and all things briny, particularly the influence of the locale where I grew up - overlooking Bass Strait from a hilltop at Flinders.

The constant movement of water. The life-giving nature of water and the fragility of waters of life. The storms above and below the surface. The colour formations reflected across bodies of water. Powerful under-currents, drifts, ebbs and flows. All these things I find inspiring, meditative and worthy of contemplation, just like creating and viewing art.

More recently it has become important to make paintings that talk about the current wellness of our oceans and waterways. I glue on fragments of tiny, almost microscopic, plastic, sourced from years of beach combing, into my paintings. Sometimes I use the plastic, moulded and faded by the sea, as a formal colour device and sometimes as an invisible trace, embedded into the surface. It’s a win, win for the environment. I collect this horrible stuff so it does less harm and it is safely encased in a painting where it stays forever. Either way it is the notion of the plastic being there (visible or not) that is important to me and those that care.

But., what I also enjoy most about my paintings is they make people smile with a sense of wonderment and feelings of happiness as well as giving their walls finesse and a splash colour for years to come.
