This is an original, one off, abstract painting on canvas ready to hang on your beautiful wall.

In this artwork the colours are soft earthy neutrals with subtle tonal shifts. The art piece is inspired by the mini-worlds discovered in rock pools and coral reefs.

Bio-Cluster Bloom III continues in my fascination with the minutiae of life and aquatic themes. It belongs to my ‘Bio-Cluster’ Series exploring the sublime beauty of microscopic life and sea-life. I am inspired by the natural world and the forces that shape it. All the tiny fragments of the universe and patterns of life.

The organic cluster motifs I often use allude to pulsating growth formations, cellular life forms and to the beautiful otherworldliness of the microscopic building blocks of life. The variation in the size and shape of the organic forms in this painting moves our eyes attention in and out of focus across the picture plane. I really enjoy that your eyes get to explore and discover subtle hidden shapes and textures within the painted surface just like the joy of discovering magical moments in underwater diving or rock-pooling

Ultimately my paintings are about connecting to our sense of awe and wonder at the beauty of nature and the miraculous building blocks of all life.

What I also enjoy about my paintings is that they make people smile with a sense of wonderment and feelings of happiness as well as giving their walls something beautiful and a talking point for years to come.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jacquelyn Stephens is a Melbourne based artist who has been successfully exhibiting her paintings for over 20 years since completing a BFA in Painting at the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts. She has gained an extensive knowledge of Art, quality art materials, techniques and theory from working closely within the arts industries and in her own art practice. Jacquelyn works full time from her studio on the Melbourne fringe. She has had several successful solo and group exhibitions in commercial galleries and artists run spaces. Her paintings can be seen in many media publications and are held in private collections worldwide. Many of the key themes in her work have been informed by her interest in water, nature, science, the environment and the domain of medicine.
