Bio Sphere – Rockpool Bloom III
Original Painting | Acrylic on Circular Panel | 30cm Diameter
Step into a microscopic dreamscape where science meets the sea.
'Bio Sphere – Rockpool Bloom III' is a one-of-a-kind abstract painting that captures the genesis of life, inspired by the artist’s lifelong connection to the ocean.
Part of the Aqua Vitae series, this work evokes the rhythms and textures of cellular growth, coral blooms, and rockpool mysteries—imagined at both the molecular and marine scale. Painted on a round plywood panel, the form itself invites a sense of discovery, like peering through a microscope or the porthole of a submarine.
With a palette drawn from southern coastal Australia—Flinders’ basalt rock, black sand, barnacle textures, and vivid algae—this piece shimmers with organic movement and layered intrigue. The intricate forms drift between focus and abstraction, echoing how nature and memory dissolve into one another.
Created for those who find beauty in detail and solace in the sea, this painting speaks to collectors seeking art that connects deeply to nature, science, and wonder. A modern tribute to life’s hidden architecture and the ocean’s quiet magic.
