This is an original abstract painting on canvas that is framed and ready to hang on your beautiful wall.
‘There was Something in the Air VI’ makes connections with my ‘Aquatic’ series and my ‘Bokeh Light’ studies. Each in a round-about way exploring the sublime beauty found in microscopic-worlds, the sea and the effervescence and glow contained within the all life.
There is much for your eyes to explore here in this modest sized painting. The dramatic darks and subtle lights create an otherworldly feel. The background in this painting has a soft focus, this together with the circular forms drifting daintily across the surface move the eye in and out of focus. There is a subtle texture through-out the painting with brush marks and layering of dots and glazing.
The circular organic motifs and the organic cluster patterns allude to cellular life forms, dainty aquatic-life and to the visceral otherworldliness of the building blocks of life like bioluminescent organisms, and molecules and the effervescence contained within the waters of life. The circles can also be viewed as patterns made by nature, light and rain on surfaces like a car windscreen. Or the photography reading of light giving the ‘bokeh’ effect, a soft out-of-focus blur of light beams. The real aim was to create something universal, sublime and beautiful that connects with our memories and feelings of tranquillity and beauty.
But ultimately, what I enjoy most about my paintings is that they make people smile with a sense of wonderment and feelings of happiness as well as giving their walls beauty and a spot of intrigue for years to come.
