FEATHERSTONE PALMS is a fusion of pop culture and Mid-century design...inspired by Mid-century designer Don Featherstone who designed the iconic plastic flamingos in 1957.
Featherstone Palms is part of my series that explores the simplification of various forms based on Mid-century design and High-end fashion brands. With an emphasis on using block colour, different tones to create natural light, my work is fused between abstraction and representation.
This painting was exhibited in the 2017 Grammar Art Show, Buderim. The series were initially exhibited for interior design purposes and are now finally available to purchase.
