Artwork Description

Perched on Louis Vuitton is a fusion of pop culture and modernism....a reflection of two objects that compliment each other in a world of exotic beauty and high-end fashion.

Perched on Louis Vuitton is part of my series that explores the simplification of various forms based on Mid-century design and High-end fashion brands. With an emphasis on using block colour, different tones to create natural light, my work is fused between abstraction and representation.

This painting was exhibited in the 2017 Grammar Art Show, Buderim. The series were initially exhibited for interior design purposes and are now finally available to purchase.

Artist Bio

Visual Artist and teacher Jacqui Stewart (b. Melbourne 1974) divides her time between family life, photographing landscape surrounds and time in her studio painting. Jacqui grew up in Melbourne and is now based on the Sunshine Coast Queensland, where she lives high up on a mountain range with her husband, two daughters, pet staffy & guinea pig.

Jacqui graduated in 2000 with Honours from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, with a Bachelor of Education - Visual Arts. Jacqui has taught art in Secondary schools in Victoria and Queensland for a number of years. Even though having a background in Art Education, Jacqui considers herself a diverse self-taught artist and primarily works in acrylics.

Her past body of work explores the simplification of various forms based on Mid-century design and High-end fashion brands. With an emphasis on using block colour, different tones to create natural light, Jacqui's work is fused between abstraction and representation. Her older works display a strong Australian narrative content which were part of a small series 'Telling Tales'.

Jacqui is now currently focusing on contemporary landscapes and photography.
