Electric Rose

I have a fascination with roses, they're the only flower I paint. It's been said that they have the highest frequency of all flowers. Their petals are dried, crushed and pressed into perfume, oils and rosary beads. The graduation of tone and colour across the petals is mesmerising. The edges of this rose has an almost electric shadow.

Mostly self-taught I received tutorship from artists workshops and retreats over the years, most recently from the Art School, Buderim on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. I take joy in painting representational works in oil that depict a sense of life, whether it be landscape, still life or portraiture.

I've been drawing and painting from childhood, but got distracted with life. Going back to painting after having a child was like a homecoming. I've been honing and refining my skills, gaining inspiration from my environment and am ready to put my paintings out into the world.
