I paint en plein air the Australian landscape & bushland in an abstract way. Capturing the feeling of the place. Guided by God using oil paint. My work sells to people who place a high value on quality art. I focus on encapsulating the iconic corporeal experience that presents itself in the Australian Outback.
Only recently have I settled into my true voice after years of creating all sorts of art from big resin pieces to drawings and anything in between. I feel so connected to my home country that Im indigenous to where I live. All my life I have created and entered art prizes and won many. I lost my way for a while and went off on tangents doing other courses and not focussing on my art and a few people close to me pulled me up sternly and told me I have a gift and I should be focusing on it to share it with others. So I got an artist coach and have had great breakthroughs. My goals are big/grand BHAG but Im tired of playing small!! Im serious about my art career and my work is being sold all over the world. Its big and captures the environment in which i paint so that the viewer is engulfed by the Australian landscape wherever they are....picture an inner city home or office space of an Aussie ex pat who misses home and they have one of my works on the wall....the true abstraction a reminder of home.
The work I do are 2-3 metres wide by 2-3 metres high mostly and they can be rolled up to be posted but I would rather deliver personally as I love getting to know my clients. This coming year I will paint at Uluru, Daintree, Mungo etc. I love abstract art and even though I can paint realism, my true gift is in capturing the feeling of a place.
With a solid focus on making my career as a successful Artist, I have chosen to provide only a few designer pieces each year to select clients because I have learned that to be the best Artist and allow truth to flow through me, I have to be relaxed and look after myself and my sacred space. I cannot rush artworks out willy nilly. They come as they are and in an organic way not pressured by me, they move as nature moves. Therefore they are of much higher value for collectors because they are so unique and are aimed at my target audience. Selling prices for designer pieces are around the $30,000 mark.
