Resonance of Light explores the way illumination lingers, echoing across surfaces like memory itself. Gestural lines weave through earthy layers, while flashes of green and pale tones shift like reflections in motion. The work holds both immediacy and depth, suggesting traces that reverberate beyond the moment of their making.

Part of the Traces series, this painting maps the interplay between mark, memory, and light—reminders of what endures in presence and absence.

Jai Waters is a visual artist based in Woolgoolga, NSW, working at the intersection of symbolism, storytelling, and psychology. Drawing on her background in psychological practice, she creates emotionally resonant portraits that explore identity, memory, and the theatrical roles we perform in daily life. Jai focus is abstract expressionism having completed the Art to Life Creative Visionary Program with Nicholas Wilton as well as been an academy member with Adele Sypesteyn. In 2024 Jai discovered she had pareidolia - the ability to see faces in abstract shapes. This led to a body of works called Whispers in the Canvas and the publication of four books of stories to accompany her paintings. Through paint and narrative, Jai invites viewers to engage with the quiet complexities of presence, perception, and transformation.
