In a world of endless self-images, The Selfie captures something more intimate — the moment of turning inward, where reflection becomes recognition. Through expressive brushwork and restrained palette, this work speaks to authenticity and the human need to be seen, not just looked at.
This work was inspired by my cycling background with friends and the selfies we took along the way. Fluorescent clothing was key to our Safety. This painting and the two figures emerged from my background painting – always a surprise who shows up.
