Born and raised in Brisbane, from a young age I have danced, drawn, painted, and imagined my way through life. I am proud to say that a quirkier view on the world is one that makes the world a fun place to be, and gives a creative mind endless room to play. I like to think that the fun and skill in creating is something that gives me peace, and an escape from an everyday life. Facing significant adversity in my own life has taught me lessons I didn't know I needed to learn, but my art and creative skills are what I use to get through tough times, to celebrate great times, to pass the time, to make others smile, and hopefully, eventually, to earn a living! It has become a form of mindfulness, that is working for me.
I have successfully completed and Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design and Advertising at the Design College of Australia and continued on through different art courses, mediums, and workshops over many years. I am currently in the process of completing a degree in Art Therapy
Although I use a lot of mixed media, paints and inks, my greatest skill and passion are in creating black and white, pen and ink drawings. I take commissions to celebrate people lives, projects, milestones or businesses. I love to be surrounded by piles of photographs, and images, all used to create a scene that is fun, intricate, detailed, and causes people to play "hide n seek" with their artwork, finding the house they grew up in, their favourite book characters and their old ugg boots, all in a quirky ink land, all about them. Businesses and large agricultural properties have commissioned works that show the attributes and personality of their business, whilst a gift recipient will use a huge laminated version as a table cloth for talking around, remembering things, at their birthday party.
Colour and texture are so much fun too, so I have a wide variety of creations around me. My colour and textured works are built up from many layers and are mixed media in genre. I love to work with acrylic and ink, combined with texture and palette knife work to create the end result.
