Jaimia's artwork is a celebration of the colours and movement found in the natural Australian landscape. She wants to bring the beauty of Australia onto the canvas, in a way that values the emotional truth of the subject over exact realism. She enjoys working with many layers, finishing with thick, bold heavy-textured marks. She mostly uses acrylic paint but at times will reach for the oil paint/sticks in that final layer.
Jaimia lives in Mount Samson, Queensland. She finds inspiration from the many National Parks she visits on her family camping trips both coastal and country and usually around South-East Queensland.
