I have a low vision impairment, but I love to paint. With the assistance of my Art Therapist, I am experimenting with various styles.
I am working on a series of works using acrylic paint pens. This style and medium allow me to work independently with little assistance from my art therapist.
This piece was born from a quiet moment — the kind where time softens and thoughts ripple gently, like circles expanding in still water. Rainbow Ripples is a meditation on connection: how one moment, one choice, one person can create waves that reach far beyond their origin.
The concentric rings, each hand-painted in vibrant metallic tones edged with bold black, symbolise the ever-expanding impact we have on our surroundings. Each line pulses with energy — sometimes steady, sometimes imperfect — reflecting how we move through life: never perfectly, but always with purpose.
The palette is joyful and grounding — pinks, teals, mustards, and lavenders that feel both playful and timeless. Together, they create a visual rhythm that feels alive, like a heartbeat or breath.
This artwork lifts a room not just through colour, but through presence. It's a reminder that beauty lies in both the centre and the edges. That calm and vibrancy can co-exist. Hung in a living space, it becomes a gentle anchor — a conversation starter, a mood shifter, a source of still energy in a busy world.
