Emerging outsider/abstract artist.
I believe that the process of making art is just as important as the end result.
Music is the primary source of my inspiration, as notes in the song take over me, dictating my rhythm and pace by the beat of sound. The various sounds heavily influence my palette choices. When creating a piece, I take energy from music, which brings me into a state of flow as I attack the canvas with my brush and paint. I tend not to use visual inspiration, just simply the feeling and emotion generated by the song I am listening to at that point in time.
My preference is to use a wide array of contrasting and clashing colours. I do not enjoy harmony, and this is evident in the way multiple layers amalgamate, resulting in a cacophony of bold, frenzied colourful strokes on the canvas. I love building layers of colour on colour, bringing depth to each painting. My paintings play with the viewerโs focus; the deeper you look, the more you discover with each glance.
