Dragonfly

I have found myself moving away from realism and into illustrative and even impressionistic styles. I love the bright colours and “happy” feel of this dragonfly touching down on a small stump. The artwork is mainly acrylic paint, finished off with touches of soft pastels to blend the colours together.

I have begun a new season of my life where I now have the opportunity to rediscover and explore creative pursuits, working with oil based coloured pencils, soft pastels and acrylics. Having recently been encouraged through exhibiting and selling artwork at a local exhibition with other artists, I am inspired to continue and develop this passion more. I hope others enjoy these new pieces as much as I have enjoyed the hours of creating them.
