Joni challenges you; be it her thought-provoking and inspiring art, her activism, or her community leadership. Joni’s passion, to create a better space for us all. She has travelled the world searching for examples of how we can create better communities.
I hoped to capture Joni’s complex and contrasting nature; small in stature yet strong and powerful.
The semi-wild garden offered dark hues and an unsettling, unknown environment. Joni’s contrasting tone; unshakable, confident and purposeful. The painting echoes past portraits of officials and heads-of state; in time, leadership and change is ours and like Joni, will radiate through the dark.
