Koekohe Beach is a favourite place to visit on New Zealand's South Island. The beach is home to the famous Moeraki Boulders; interspersed between the boulders are odd clusters of branches breaking through the sand. The painting depicts four people dotted along the long, sweeping beach, including a boy making use of nature's climbing frames.
