Artist Bio

Since graduating from Fine Art in Ballarat Jan has experimented with a wide range of mediums including oil paint, mixed media, clay, limestone, lead light and printmaking. Working from her home studio in Donald, whilst raising four children with her husband Andrew, Jan predominately concentrated on oil painting and painting local scenes around North Central Victoria.
Jan and her husband moved to Bright in 2019 where her Art work has taken a new and personalised appearance. Jan is using foliage, bark and random items found in the forests and uses these in eco dying processes and Gel plate printing. Images are sought in the random dying effects made on the surface of the canvas and paper and are enhanced by using a variety of Artistic techniques and mediums. Working with random dying effects is challenging and adds an element of surprise to the story telling and ambience of her artwork.
