Artwork Description

The dazzling profusion of greenery inside Singapore's Gardens by the Bay 'Cloud Forest' inspired this drawing. While tropical plants from around the globe form a sumptuous entanglement of foliage and flower, it's the shady recesses that lure the eye.
This piece will add a lush tropical ambience to your room.
The original artwork was hand drawn using coloured pencil on paper, and is reproduced digitally using archival pigment inks and 310gsm Hahnemuhle German etching paper.

Artist Bio

Jan is a multidisciplinary, environmentally focussed Sydney artist, whose wide-ranging practice includes drawing, painting, print- and photomedia, and animation.

She exhibits with the eco-arts collective, the Tree Veneration Society, a group devoted to honouring, protecting and promoting trees and the natural environment. As a keen bushwalker, much of her current work involves detailed studies of Australian plants, especially those found in sheltered nooks and crannies of the forest. Close observation and careful drawing are central to her practice. This allows time to discover the beauty and complexity of the subject, and find wonder in both the natural world and the everyday.
