Classic Arabian intelligence caught in the early morning light. Her (not quite white) coat reflecting warm colours of the day’s start. Attentive to the viewer, but with one ear ever so slightly cocked and on alert to her surroundings.
Jan has a love for how a white horse translates through painting. Her skill in using colours in a painting that appears monochromatic is tantalising.
This painting started from a photograph that Jan captured in the fleeting long shadows of an early morning . Arabian mare even whilst standing still, has the feeling of movement.
Again, this painting has many places where it would look fantastic. As a stunning painting in a bedroom, or as a feature in a living room. You can’t go wrong.

Living in country Victoria, Jan draws inspiration from the world around her. Her love of animals is strongly represented in many of her artworks as well as the bold magpies that make fabulous statement pieces of art.

Jan’s style when painting animals is about using colour and composition to capture personality and quirky qualities that draw the viewer in. An innate understanding of the use of colours creates visual nuances to delight the viewer. With a strong following of dog lovers who enjoy Jan’s ability to capture the essence of our canine family members. Jan also offers abstract landscapes that have a different feel to her animal/bird art. They are built up with many layers of colour and texture with her aim to make the viewer curious and engaged with the narrative of the land.
