Jan is a Melbourne artist. Making art has always been part of her life. Finding ways to express joy and beauty are what motivates Jan’s creative endeavours. Sources of external inspiration are boundless and these coupled with intuition and a sense of play inform her art.
The rich variety of the natural world, colour relationships, the elegance of the line or curve, texture, clarity of composition, stillness, the play of light and dark and a sensual response to beauty are creative impetus.
Her painting style is fresh and loose. She works in mixed media using acrylic paints, acrylic inks, pastels, oil pastels and watercolours.
Jan continually attends classes, workshops, exhibitions and ecourses to develop her creative skills and knowledge and uses every informal opportunity to extend her practice of art.
