The Plague Bird

The sacred ibis was linked to the god, Thoth, in Ancient Egypt, and was thought to provide protection from plague and serpents. My work offers a contemporary Australian interpretation.

Jane is a mixed media artist. Originally trained as a graphic designer, she furthered her interest in contemporary fine art through studies at North Metropolitan TAFE and Curtin University. Urban landscapes, and still life arrangements are recurring themes, and she explores them through the mediums of both drawing and painting.
