Artwork Description

A King’s Protea.

Protea’s have become one of my favourite flowers over the last year. I think they are stunning when dried.
When Perth got shut down in April 2020 - I needed to paint something bright & cheerful and out came this painting.
I opted to keep this painting in my lounge room during 2020 but it’s time for this painting to be loved by someone else.

Artist Bio

Jane Elizabeth’s love of art started at a young age through her maternal grandmother who was an incredible artist working with acrylic and oil paints along with creating detailed Faberge eggs. During Jane’s late teens and early twenties, she developed a love for photography whilst travelling the world. However, it was at the start of the pandemic that Jane was reintroduced to her childhood love of painting.

Using painting as part of her therapy for her mental health she creates abstract pieces based on emotions and experiences before moving into florals and the female form. Jane’s artwork can be recognised by her use of bright colours and metallic paint swirls or gold leaf. Jane enjoys experimenting with textures and colour palettes based on her or her subjects’ current experiences and emotions.

Being neurodivergent Jane’s creative process can vary from a detailed plan with hours of planning to having an experience that inspires her to pick up the brush and paint immediately. Jane is looking forward to expanding her creative experience through exhibitions and commission pieces.
