"Showdown" is Jane's third painting in her Wild West Series. She has taken a publicity still from a classic Hollywood western movie and placed the actress against the rocky sandstone outcrops of the Arches national park area of Utah . The woman has a shotgun in a showdown with some unknown enemy or threat. The mythology of the Wild West is based on the tough, self-reliant individual who survives as best they can in the lawless frontier. Women of the Wild West era often had a harder but freer life than their sisters on the more civilized east coast of USA.
In the past decade I have sold hundreds of paintings worldwide, been a finalist in many art competitions, and exhibited in major Brisbane and Gold Coast galleries. My original paintings are included in many private international art collections.
