This particular abstract was mostly inspired by a visit to India in 2012. The architecture there flows so beautifully, especially in the older buildings and their use of pink sandstone has influenced my colour choices. I was also inspired by the Jantar Mantar which means " instruments of measuring the harmony in the heavens". "It consists of 13 architectural astronomy instruments". These were built in 1724 by the Maharaja Jai Singh 11. These helped the people to work out various astronomical occurrences. The colours of these instraments are light reddy, brown, pinks and creams and their features are simplistic and beautiful thus I was able to combine my love of flat plains and shapes and simplistic patterns in this art work.
