Artwork Description

As working harbours disappear from our cities, I continue to be fascinated by inner harbour at Port Kembla where the gritty industrial rhythm of a working waterfront continues to be visible. Drawing inspiration from the massive grain terminals and the heavy maritime trade, this atmospheric piece reflects the steel- blue and earthy tones of the rugged industrial structures of the Harbourside. Abstract crane silhouettes and linear accents evoke the constant motion of loading docks standing within the elemental beauty of the Wollongong coastline.

Artist Bio

I love variety in my art and move between abstract style using mixed media., and realism. I am inspired by scenes and experiences, and I endeavour to capture the essence and movement. I enjoy colour and variety in my artwork. My painting “Between the Flags” won the Handlers Prize at the Thirroul Seaside Art Festival. “Banksia Served Three Ways” was selected as a 2022 finalist in the Hornsby Art Prize, and my still life “Town and Country” as a finalist at Bowral Art Gallery. “Inside Out” was hung as a finalist in the Hunters Hill Art Prize. I am a member of the Illawarra Art Society and participate in their regular exhibitions.
