Artwork Description

In Surf and Sail the interplay of movement, geometry and coastal atmosphere finds expression through layering of shape and texture. This piece was inspired by the raw energy of ocean swells, and the contrast between the rigidity of the boat hull and the organic curves of the wind filled sail. The bold angular form cutting across the frame was inspired by the cut of the hill slicing through the ocean . In this piece I capture the warm coastal light and deep oceanic blues.
