Artwork Description

My Happy Place is an abstract painting by Brisbane artist Janelle Bowra.

This vivid abstract painting is symbolic of my happy place which is spending time in my studio, listening to music, and being immersed in bright and beautiful colours that make my mind smile, calm down and feel positive.

Abstract art is open to interpretation. It requires you to have an open, inquiring mind to see where it takes you. My art gives you the freedom to explore the artwork and assign your own personal meaning to the piece.

This is a unique original one off painting on stretched artist quality canvas with an internal wooden frame, ready to hang. The best archival quality paints and varnishes are used. It is signed on the front of the painting and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.

The painting is framed in a 100% Australian natural oak floating frame.

Artist Bio

Janelle is a Brisbane based abstract artist. Her work has been described as abstract and vibrant using very bright and pure colours, involving multiple layers until she reaches a depth and complexity that represents her inner world and personality. She is a very expressive person and her paintings evolve and reflect this.

"Art takes me to a place where I feel alive, happy, at peace, calm and free. I work with children and young people with mental health difficulties where art is used as a safe way to express inner experiences and feelings. I made it a priority to bring expressive arts into my workplace to connect and communicate with troubled children and teens as a stepping stone toward their recovery."

Abstract art is open to interpretation. It requires you to have an open, inquiring mind to see where it takes you. My art gives you the freedom to explore the artwork and assign your own personal meaning to each piece.
