The Ocean has been the inspiration for a lot of my paintings. I have a fascination with the way light plays on the water, the sound of the surf or the gentle lapping of the water, the salt air. The ocean is always changing, but always powerful & beautiful, it evokes in us a quiet calm & serenity. Living on the Gold Coast inspires me to express myself through my deep connection to the ocean, nature & colour. My inspiration comes from my own backyard & local surrounds of the Gold Coast, Broadwater & Islands. I enjoy painting seascapes, portrait painting, landscapes, nature, still life & abstract & impressionist painting. Some of my paintings feature a textured background to enhance the movement of the pieces.
Painting is in my blood & I am primarily self-taught. My mother also an Artist had a paintbrush in my hand from a toddler, I usually won the Annual Art Award throughout High School & had one of my paintings chosen to enter the Caltex Art Awards in which I received a Highly Commended for one of my Portraits.
Painting is my meditation and I am an emotional and intuitive painter. Colour is very important to my work as I believe that colour invokes very strong emotions, moods & memories in us. I hope you find something that connects with you in my work & resonates with your emotions.
