Living on the Queensland coast the Native frangipani grow in abundance. On a warm summer night the air is filled with there perfume. I love the colours of the tropical varieties painted against beautiful blue sky's.
Painted with acrylics paints capturing the gorgeous hues of white blending into yellow and pinks, the stems a burnished maroon and long defined foliage creates a statement piece for any wall to grace.

Artwork Description
Artist Bio
Well, my biography is quite short as I am a newcomer to the art world I have no formal art degree but I love art and wanted to be involved in an art community my studio is home based I am retired and with my husband we live in a beautiful coastal town in Queensland. I belong to and volunteer one day a month at two local art galleries and meet with a group of painters Friends of Art on a weekly basis.
In 2021 at 72 I decided it was a now or never moment to do something I had always wanted to do but never quiet had the confidence to do so. I really wanted to paint big bold blooms, so I attended a 4-day workshop of an accomplished artist in this field.
It was amazing giving me the start and confidence I needed.
Following the workshop I only painted big bold beautiful blooms in acrylics.
2023 I realised just how much I didn't know about art and started attending a local workshop under the guidance of an amazing artist and have enjoyed developing my drawing and painting skills using many different materials and genres 2023 was a year dedicated to exploring other mediums. It's been 2 years since this workshop and for the first year i was captivated trying to capture the beautiful shapes and colours of flowers now i am just enjoying painting almost anything that i would like to have a go at.
I find i am drawn to portraits and still life so my journey so far has been short but I am so looking forward to what my future art journey will be.
