I was a classical musician in a previous life and my work is infused with movement and colour. Some say that my paintings are edgy, vibrant, emotive and expressionistic. I am drawn to colour - bold and vibrant- and am fascinated by the juxtaposition of one against another. I have become increasingly inspired by light and dark and aim to simplify what I see into blocks and shapes of light, shadow and hue. By using vigorous mark making and brush strokes I can create the energy and movement to achieve a more dynamic painting. Most of my paintings have a story behind them and many of my outback and bush scenes are from field trips and station life. I am regularly commissioned to do animal and pet portraits which I love painting. They create such a special and unique gift for a loved one or simply a memory of a special time. All commissions are welcome. I work in pastel, acrylic and oils and I paint so that I can share the beauty of the world around me as I see it and if my paintings create an emotion and makes someone smile then I have achieved that goal. I am a work in progress, a people watcher, animal stalker and lover of the great Australian outback.
