Artwork Description

The Dandenong region in Victoria was once covered in red gum and bushland. It is now urban and industrial in nature. Long forgotten are the native animals and original inhabitants which this painting refers to.

Artist Bio

Janice Mills has been working on her art practice since 2009 whilst studying to gain the highest qualifications to underpin her business and artistic skills.

Along with her Bachelor's degree with Honours in Visual Art and Visual Culture, she has a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching, a Graduate Certificate of Arts (Writing), a Certificate IV In Training and Assessment, a Diploma of Management, a Master of Arts and a Master of Communication (Journalism) both with Distinction. She now also holds a PhD in fine art from the University of Southern Queensland.

Janice has held three solo exhibitions of her work and has entered many group exhibitions since 2013, including being a finalist in the Pro Hart Landscape Prize 2017.

Janice has a studio space where her work is on permanent display and from which she teaches art to children and adults in group and private art lessons. Her work and academic writing are available online via her blog sites. She is easily found by Googling her name.
