My passion for my art comes from a desire to recreate elements of nature such as animals β birds-landscape. My birthplace was Gympie a small rural town in the darling downs area of Queensland Australia. I am a mother of 3 and a grandmother of 8. Having moving around a lot in my life I now call Cairns home. I have worked in retail for a great part of my working life from which I have retired to concentrate on developing my art practice. In 2017 I completed a Bachelor of Fine Art and Visual Culture from Curtin University in Western Australia. One of my biggest and earliest influences of my desire and passion to create art was my mother who was amazing in her ability to recreate a scene with a pencil in wonderful detail. I spent many hours as a child sitting next to her watching her sketch. April Art Exhibitions. Tanks Art Gallery. Artist of the North Exhibition. 2019 DFO Art Gallery.
