Janine was born and raised in Melbourne in a household where her father, an avid and talented artist, produced works from large oil canvases to fine pen sketches. Subsequently, her life long interest for art and experimenting with different mediums started at an early age. Whilst working as the Administration Manager in a legal firm , her role expanded to incorporate graphic design, interior decorating and industrial design. She was responsible for creating everything from company logos and corporate flower arrangements to furniture design and floor plans. Throughout her career, she has worked in both commercial and domestic building and decorating. In her artwork she has explored techniques such as tromp l'oeil, been inspired by the impressionists' capture of light as well as Salvador Dali's concept of creating your own realism and David Hockney's use of technology. As a self-taught painter, she is continually exploring different styles, refining her skills and attending studios to ensure her art is ever evolving.
