Artwork Description

"Totally Plastered" intricately weaves together layers of symbolism, inviting viewers into a poignant exploration of mental health and personal transformation. The title itself, "Totally Plastered," carries a dual significance that deepens the narrative within the artwork. On one level, the plaster bandages serve as a tangible representation of brokenness and fragmentation, mirroring the disjointed nature of Jay's own experiences with mental health, particularly her struggles with bipolar 1 disorder. Each bandage seems to echo the fractures within, reflecting moments of pain and vulnerability.
