Limestone Drift

This piece draws inspiration from natural erosion, shifting sands, and the quiet movement found in coastal and desert landscapes. Rather than depicting a literal scene, the work focuses on the feeling of slow change, where layers form over time through wind, water, and gravity.

The restrained palette and flowing relief are intended to complement architectural spaces, allowing light and shadow to interact with the surface throughout the day. The result is a calm, textural presence that sits comfortably within modern, minimalist, and coastal interiors.

Working primarily with plaster, mineral compounds, resin, and mixed media, JP Knowles creates contemporary wall works informed by decades of hands-on making and private studio practice. The focus is on tactility, organic form, and the quiet impact of material within interior spaces.
