Whist studying for Bachelor of Arts at Sydney College of the Arts, Jeanene was able to explore many aspects of art and design. Thriving in the creative environment, she majored in Interior Design. Once graduating, she then practised as an Interior Designer working mostly in the Interior Architectural field. Enjoying manually drafting building and joinery details, but finding relaxation when selecting colours and creating designs for carpet, fabric and wall art to complement the concepts.
She has always been creating! She is enthusiastic about encouraging good holistic design, lecturing at Adult Education Institutions in Sydney, and the Gold Coast. Teaching technology subjects for drawing and presentation created accurate precise work, which has led to her expressing herself with indefinite paintings.
Jeanene is now spending time using the skills she has developed from Art College, professional development, and those around her, to create. Nature is inspirational! Flower details, birds, the beach on the Gold Coast, and the everchanging sky is seen in her work.
She is enjoying exploring and creating impressionist art, using high quality acrylics on gallery standard stretched canvas. Exploring the reflective qualities of different paints, her works reflect the light differently at various times of the day.
Researching the subject extensively, creating photo montages, then over time she builds the acrylic paint, allowing the layers to dry. This often creates depth to her work.
Exhibiting in The Darcy Doyle Art Awards, Gold Coast Australia 2017, 2018,2019, 2021,2023 and has enjoyed participating in the TAE exhibitions: in Myrtle Beach USA in 2020, Cheltenham England in 2021, York England in 2022, and North Vancouver, BC. Canada in 2023.
Jeanene does keep watch on trending colours and ideas, however, has a strong dedication to the idea that good art and design should be timeless. A painting should just make you happy!
