Artwork Description

“Her fragility was a mask,
She was ready for the battle!”
J. GIROUD
This is another work in my series of Warrior women. The two earlier versions are sold. It is a commentary on the various battles women face. We see a fragile woman in this image, but she has courage and strength to face life’s battles.

Artist Bio

Jeanette Giroud taught Art Education in Western Australia for more than 25 years.
During her time as a lecturer of Art History, her favourite topics were Poetry Propaganda, and Politics as well as Social Realism and Impressionism.
Van Gogh, Constable, and Turner have been the main inspiration for much of Jeanette's landscape paintings, whilst the poignant works of German Artist, Kaethe Kollwitz have inspired her major in Printmaking.
Jeanette's Master's in Art Education focussed on a thesis exploring Secondary Arts Teachers' Perceptions of Art Integration across the Curriculum.
After retirement from Education practice, she now works in a variety of visual art disciplines including, drawing, painting, printmaking, and textiles.
