I captured another Lorikeet image for my painting, the third painting I have completed involving these flighty, nervous and highly coloured birds. Opposite a building I had been in, these two were peering into a driveway pipe that had seen better days. I quietly crept towards them so as not to alarm but of course one knew I was there and kept guard while the other too occupied with it's investigation kept peering in. Later when they left, I too peered in, well, into nothing that my human eyes could detect! The difficult element of this painting was to keep the right proportions of the bird peering into the pipe. This painting won a Highly Commended in a Flora and Fauna Competition
