Red Tree and Purple Cliff

after an en plein air day of sketching, considered the approach to the complex subject was to simply into shapes and the predominate colours shown in the landscape on that very sunny day

an afternoon sun highlighted the red tipped gumtree and hence the whole tree became the same colour

this painting is done after days of consideration and a few adjustments were made of the colours
all in all a pleasant and memorable record of an afternoon observations
