As evening falls, the world softens. Pink clouds melt into a quiet sky, and a single wave whispers its way onto the shore. Light dances across the wet sand, catching in shimmering reflections that feel both fleeting and magical. This artwork artwork celebrates the peaceful glow of the coast at day’s end.
Painted in professional Winsor & Newton and Daniel Smith watercolours on 300gsm Arches paper, to ensure longevity of the luminous colours used. Jemma is a member of the Western Australia Watercolour Society, has had her paintings acquired in many private art collections, and regularly creates new seascapes from life along the Perth coastline.

Jemma creates elegant, light-filled watercolour paintings inspired by contemporary coastal scenes and botanicals. Often painting en plein air around Perth’s beaches, she captures the coast’s ocean movement and sunlit atmosphere.

Her work is distinguished by a focus on watercolour’s natural luminosity, thoughtful variation of edges to add interest and focus, and an aesthetic that balances accuracy with expression. This combination allows her to capture the coast in a way that feels both true-to-life and beautifully artistic.

Producing new work regularly and completing many commissioned pieces, Jemma is known for her refined, airy depictions of nature. She is a member of the Watercolour Society of Western Australia.
