Berthe Morisot wrote ‘it is important to express oneself... provided the feelings are real and are taken from your own experience’
My art is a joyful celebration of the beautiful and interesting things that I find in my everyday life.
I’m excited to interpret and share the things that I love and the curiosities of the wider world, in a vibrant visual way for you. I’m inviting you to take a minute and come into my world and be a voyeur.
My home environment, Australian birds, flora and fauna are constant motifs in my work.
The minutia in the kitchen, the life cycle of beautiful flowers someone gave me, the Cockatoo in the neighbours tree, Magpie friends in the park, my garden, it’s insects, native Australian plants and animals, birds, Argentine Tango or a dream I had are all rich sources of inspiration.
The subject matter determines the medium that I choose for a particular work.
The exploration of the fluidity of line and its deconstruction forms the basis of much of my work. I’m also obsessed with looking to find the elements of colour and shade that confer a whole.
Using different mediums enables me to create a different ambience for my subjects. I particularly love the differences that oil painting, watercolour, ink and printmaking afford me.
