Artwork Description

Based on my photos from the Moonlit Sanctuary down in the Mornington Peninsula, where this green lizard posed beautifully for me. This painting has been done in watercolour and I have endeavoured to capture his beauty and his readiness to move.

Artist Bio

Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to learn a little about my artistic journey.
My love of art began with my mother, who taught me the basics and inspired my interest in painting. Over the years, I have continued to develop my skills through lessons with various professional artists and workshops, exploring a range of mediums including pastels, scratchboard and watercolour. However, oils remain my preferred medium.

My artwork is a journey through a variety of subjects, from expressive portraits and the powerful presence of trains to serene landscapes and captivating seascapes. The Australian landscape, with its breathtaking beauty, has always held a special place in my heart. I enjoy exploring a multitude of themes and subjects, each with its own unique story to tell.

However, it is in the world of wildlife art, particularly Australian birdlife, that I find my greatest passion. I love the challenge of capturing the character, colour and untamed beauty of our natural world, bringing these wonderful creatures to life on canvas.
I primarily paint in oils, although I also enjoy painting birds in watercolour.

Thank you for taking the time to read my biography. I hope you enjoy viewing my artwork as much as I enjoy creating it.
