Artwork Description

This abstract painting takes inspiration from the gorgeous colours of the Australian outback, the shapes and marks throughout the gorges, the soft greens and sands in the dry river beds, and the blue of the sky. . It is full of mark making and texture. The sides are painted white so it can be hung as it is, or framed as in the in situ photos.

Artist Bio

I will be on holidays from 4 July to 14 July, and will post any purchases made in that time soon after my return. Large paintings that need courier delivery will be delivered after 14 July (even if purchased on 3 July).

I am an emerging artist, but proud to now be high on the list of Bluethumb's rising stars. Please enjoy browsing my large range of artworks - I have been exploring watercolour, oil and cold wax medium, acrylic paintings and mixed media as well as printmaking. Some of my work is on paper, others canvas or board. Perhaps you'd like to click on "follow" and hear about new work as it is listed.

I sold more than 100 paintings with Bluethumb in 2025 and was included in Bluethumb's 2024 "Top emerging women artists" curation and "Notable seascape artists of 2024" curation, as well as other curations in 2025 . I take inspiration from the coastal landscape around Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, as well as more diverse landscape from travels across Australia and beyond. I love to paint expressively and sometimes abstractly to capture the feeling, colour and detail of locations. I sometimes delve into still life, abstract portraits and florals.

While I have no formal art education , I have expanded my art education through many classes, online and in person, and through intensive art experiences , with guidance and mentoring from many fabulous artists.

In February 2025 I retired from a long professional career working in research in the area of family studies.
