Artwork Description

This abstracted landscape painting draws on the wonderful landscape in the Kimberley's near Kunnanurra. It is based on a sketch done across from the homestead at Diggers Rest cattle station. The painting was completed in a studio set up on the verandah of a cattle station, Diggers Rest. The painting is textured and full of depth through layering of paint and collage.

This painting will look beautiful behind a matt border as shown in the in situ photos. It is on paper with a border around the painting. The painting itself is 54cmx 36.5cm.

Artist Bio

I am an emerging artist, but proud to now be high on the list of Bluethumb's rising stars. Please enjoy browsing my large range of artworks - I have been exploring watercolour, oil and cold wax medium, acrylic paintings and mixed media as well as printmaking. Some of my work is on paper, others canvas or board. Perhaps you'd like to click on "follow" and hear about new work as it is listed.

I sold more than 100 paintings with Bluethumb in 2025 and was included in Bluethumb's 2024 "Top emerging women artists" curation and "Notable seascape artists of 2024" curation, as well as other curations in 2025 . I take inspiration from the coastal landscape around Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, as well as more diverse landscape from travels across Australia and beyond. I love to paint expressively and sometimes abstractly to capture the feeling, colour and detail of locations. I sometimes delve into still life, abstract portraits and florals.

While I have no formal art education , I have expanded my art education through many classes, online and in person, and through intensive art experiences , with guidance and mentoring from many fabulous artists.

In February 2025 I retired from a long professional career working in research in the area of family studies.
