Artwork Description

This expressive coastal scene has been painted using lovely granulating watercolour pigments, that leave behind beautiful textures as the paints move and settle in the paper. The pigments were selected to represent a coastal view, with beach rocks and sand and an ocean beyond.

This painting will look lovely framed with a matt border. It has a small border around the painting. It will need framing behind glass or equivalent.

Artist Bio

Proud to be a finalist 2026 Paddington Painting Prize!

I have been making art for a few years now, and I'm now doing it full-time. I'm loving the artist journey, and am proud to be one of bluethumb's top sellers. I have a large array of artwork available. I paint a lot, and enjoy exploring watercolour, oil and cold wax medium, acrylic paintings and mixed media as well as printmaking. Some of my work is on paper, others canvas or board. Perhaps you'd like to click on "follow" and hear about new work as it is listed.

I take inspiration from the coastal landscape around Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, as well as more diverse landscape from travels across Australia and beyond. I love to paint expressively and sometimes abstractly to capture the feeling, colour and detail of locations. I also delve into still life, abstract portraits, urban landscapes and florals.

I am constantly adding to my art education through many classes, online and in person, and through intensive art experiences , with guidance and mentoring from many fabulous artists.

In February 2025 I retired from a long professional career working in research in the area of family studies.
