Creekbed Colours is an abstracted landscape painting is a perspective on a view from a dry Creekbed at Nooldoonooldoona. It is a stunning location with a dry creek bed, big rock faces, many trees and flowers at Arkaroola, a wildlife sanctuary in the north of the Flinders Ranges, South Australia. This is one of a series painted there at a week-long art workshop. This painting was started in the heat of the day, on the rocky creekbed near the waterhole. It was finished in the studio on site in Arkaroola. The painting has a lot of depth and interest.
The painting will look beautiful behind a matt border as shown in the in situ photos, although you could also explore other options with a framer if you prefer to frame it without glass protection. I have previously had a framer mount one of these paintings on paper on board and frame without glass. See for example "In the creek bed of Nooldoonooldoona".
