A grove of boab trees was lit up at sunset, some big trees, some skinny, in a remote area of the Kimberley's. This painting draws on the colours of the day, bringing the deep orange of the sunset into the trees themselves. Layers of paint bring interest to the surface.

Artwork Description
Artist Bio
I am on holidays and will post any artwork purchased while I’m away as soon as I can after 12 July. Or check out canvas prints that can be done while I’m on holiday.
I am an emerging artist and was included in Bluethumb's 2024 "Top emerging women artists" curation and "Notable seascape artists of 2024" curation . I take inspiration from the coastal landscape around Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, as well as more diverse landscape from travels across Australia. I love to paint expressively and sometimes abstractly to capture the feeling, colour and detail of locations. My work includes a range of media, including acrylics, watercolour and printmaking.
While I have no formal art education, , I have expanded my art education through many classes, online and in person, and through intensive art experiences , with guidance and mentoring from many fabulous artists.
In February 2025 I retired from a long professional career working in research in the area of family studies.
