Artwork Description

This abstracted landscape painting draws on the wonderful landscape in the Kimberley's near Kunnanurra, using lovely earthy colours and focusing on big and varied shapes in the landscape. The painting was completed at home, with the initial layer done in the studio set up on the verandah of a cattle station, Diggers Rest. The acrylic painting on watercolour paper has texture from collage paper and ochre collected on location.

This painting will need framing and will look beautiful behind a matt border as shown in the in situ photos. You could also have the painting mounted onto a wooden board and framed without glass - speak to your local framer about this.

Artist Bio

Note I will be away on holidays for a month from 15 September and unable to ship larger works in days leading up to this so please order early to avoid a long delay. I might be able to send yours even on the 15th - despite me having put myself on holiday mode.

I have been making art for a few years now, and I'm now doing it full-time. I'm loving the artist journey, and am proud to be high on the list of Bluethumb's rising stars. I have a large array of artwork available. I paint a lot, and enjoy exploring watercolour, oil and cold wax medium, acrylic paintings and mixed media as well as printmaking. Some of my work is on paper, others canvas or board. Perhaps you'd like to click on "follow" and hear about new work as it is listed.

I sold more than 100 paintings with Bluethumb in 2025 and was included in Bluethumb's 2024 "Top emerging women artists" curation and "Notable seascape artists of 2024" curation, as well as other curations in 2025 . I take inspiration from the coastal landscape around Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, as well as more diverse landscape from travels across Australia and beyond. I love to paint expressively and sometimes abstractly to capture the feeling, colour and detail of locations. I also delve into still life, abstract portraits, urban landscapes and florals.

I am constantly adding to my art education through many classes, online and in person, and through intensive art experiences , with guidance and mentoring from many fabulous artists.

In February 2025 I retired from a long professional career working in research in the area of family studies.
