Lakeside trees

Acrylic paint with some collage on loose canvas.

This painting was made in response to the Little Blue Lake in the north east of Tasmania. The glorious blue lake was edged by white rocks and cliffs, and green vegetation. This is an abstracted perspective of the place, with a simplification of the natural beauty.

This painting will either need to be stretched for hanging, or framed behind glass or similar, with a matt border. The artwork is on loose canvas 40cm X 50cm. I have shown example images of it framed with a matt border. Bluethumb framing options include stretching and added frame. The final artwork size will be a little smaller if stretched to allow for wrapping edges of the canvas around stretcher bars.

I have been making art for a few years now, and I'm now doing it full-time. I'm loving the artist journey, and am proud to be high on the list of Bluethumb's rising stars. I have a large array of artwork available. I paint a lot, and enjoy exploring watercolour, oil and cold wax medium, acrylic paintings and mixed media as well as printmaking. I sold more than 100 paintings with Bluethumb in 2025 and was included in Bluethumb's 2024 "Top emerging women artists" curation and "Notable seascape artists of 2024" curation, as well as other curations in 2025 . I take inspiration from the coastal landscape around Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, as well as more diverse landscape from travels across Australia and beyond. I love to paint expressively and sometimes abstractly to capture the feeling, colour and detail of locations. I also delve into still life, abstract portraits, urban landscapes and florals.

I am constantly adding to my art education through many classes, online and in person, and through intensive art experiences , with guidance and mentoring from many fabulous artists.

In February 2025 I retired from a long professional career working in research in the area of family studies.
